Temporarily out of the country

I'm off to Ireland on Saturday! It'll be my second trip and my first one as a fibrecrafter, so I'm looking forward to seeing what fibre goodies I can discover. Back after the first week of July and I promise I will get more photos up of recent craft activities!

Hi Elizabeth,
We met at Wonderwool and you bought some of my superwash merino.

I thought I'd better send you some info for the Irish trip -are you going to Donegal? If you are, then I can recommend Studio Donegal in Kilcar www.studiodonegal.ie . I bought some beautiful heathery colured fibre from them a few years ago - it's worth asking if you can buy some!

Taipeis Gael the Tapestry weaving centre is in Gleanncolmcille, Donegal. If you googlethe namecheck out the Meghan Nuttall Sayers link which will give you some more info.

If you go to Kilcar you'll also find the Kilcarra woollen mill which produces the donegal aran yarns.

Finally, the main weaving centre in Donegal is Ardara - it's a bit more commercial, geared up for busloads to see weavers in action but still worth a visit.

Hope you enjoy the holiday
Regards
Eryl
